Riverside County is located in Southern California, United States. The population of Riverside County was 2,239,620 in 2011. It is the 4th most populous county in California and among the most fastest-growing areas of the USA in the past half a century. Riverside County lies inland of Los Angeles County and is bordered by Orange County to the west, San Bernardino County to the north, San Diego to the South. The Mission Inn, now known as The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, is a historic landmark hotel in downtown Riverside, California. Although a composite of many architectural styles, it is generally considered the largest Mission Revival Style building in the United States. The famous resort cities of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage and Desert Hot Springs are all located in the Coachella Valley region of Riverside County. The cities of Temecula and Murrieta account for 20% of increase in population of Riverside County between 2000 and 2007. Twenty- eight incorporated cities are located in Riverside County; the newest is Eastvale incorporated in 2010 and Jurupa Valley in 2011.
